With the implementation of a semi-automated EXTENDOR with Positioning Set (e.g. Extendor D3/25, Extendor D4/55, Extendor D4/100 or Extendor D4/120) an easy, exact and repeatable positioning of grommets on to wires/harnesses can be achieved.
The process consists of expanding the grommets or hoses with several mandrels by means of a pneumatic lever mechanism, so that they can be fitted into the corresponding components without the need for force.
EXTENDOR technology uses specially adapted mandrels to mechanically expand the grommets. Wiring or cables can then be easily routed through the grommet and positioned precisely or variably.
Positioning aids are used for precise positioning, ensuring a high degree of accuracy.
With the implementation of the semi-automatic three-pin pneumatic expansion technique in the EXTENDOR D3/25, it is possible to achieve easy and ergonomic mounting of grommets on cables/wires.
The grommets can be placed in any position on the cable defined by the user. The operation by a foot-switch allows the operator the use of both hands during the process
The EXTENDOR D3/D4 Positioning module allows you to expand the grommets from 25mm to 120mm, depending on the version.
